History

VFM International started in the UK in 1999. The company was founded by three Swedes with significant experience inside international business, information technology and food trade.

Initially focus was on establishing open market places for the European food industry, such as fresh produce, meat and fish and was at one point present in 17 countries. The experience from operating open market places led to the development of an new product, I-Deal, an Internet based system for communication between trading partners.

2003 VFM established an operation in Sweden with offices at the Ideon Technology Park in Lund. This has meant an increased presence also on the Swedish market.

In 2005 I-Deal Portal for the Swedish food retail industry was introduced and in January 2007 I-Deal Mobile was launched. This is a solution that permits communication between trading partners via handheld devices or mobile phones.

VFM has customers in England, Holland, Germany and Sweden.
